Technical Manager - Assurance

Purpose of role

Provide technical support and training to the audit department in respect of accounting and auditing standard
Assist in the research of technical issues, including interpretations and practical considerations on accounting and auditing related matters
Assist to plan, manage and assist to conduct trainings and briefings

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical advice on accounting and auditing related matters
Research and update technical material on developments in the Malaysian and international accounting and audit practice
Present technical material at internal and external training sessions and conferences
Collaborate on audit and accounting standards support materials for use on the firm's audit methodology and working papers
Monitor and assist in technical administrative works in respect of compliance matters with regulatory bodies in Malaysia and Moore Global

Job requirements

The ideal candidate should possess the following:

A recognised Degree in Accounting or Professional Accountancy Qualification and a chartered accountant registered with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants
Commitment for research, analysis and information seeking, with appreciation and awareness of the commercial, regulatory and legislative aspects in the application of financial reporting and auditing standards
Commitment to technical excellence, demonstrating intimate working competency with ISAs and MFRS
Current or prior experience as in-house technical department in an audit firm and/or member of a technical committee of a professional accounting body will be an advantage
4 to 5 years' experience in external audit and/or technical related matters
Good interpersonal, communication, presentation, work ethic and writing skills
Strong self-motivation and a capacity for multi-tasking/teamwork
Proficient in English. Mandarin is not required but an added advantage
Exposure to areas such as internal audit, corporate finance and corporate exercises will be an added advantage
